Modeling Astrophysical Reactive Flows with AMReX-Astrophysics Castro
Description
My presentation at the High Performance Software Foundation (HPSF) 2026 meeting.
Abstract:
The computational cost of modeling stellar explosions is often dominated by the reaction network, which makes it a natural target for performance optimization. Over the past decade, we developed a library of integrators that use AMReX to perform the integration directly on GPUs, and a python library, pynucastro, for creating custom AMReX C++ reaction networks for specific science applications. In this presentation I will give an overview of this reaction infrastructure and show some astrophysical applications.
