Certifying reproducibility with confidential data: first results from the French cascad/Casd cooperation

We present a framework that allows researchers working with restricted or confidential data to credibly attest to the reproducibility of their empirical results. The framework is based on an independent verification procedure carried out by a dedicated organization recognized by the providers of the confidential data : cascad agency. This organization reproduces the results reported in a scientific article by running the researcher’s code on the original data within the CASD provided secure Virtual Research Environment. The procedure is currently being rolled out and progressively implemented in coordination with counterpart agencies, with the objective of establishing a shared and scalable verification practice across institutions.
