Description

Tafheena: A Boundary-State Model of Control Handover Under Irreversible Constraint
This work introduces the Tafheena model, a framework developed to bridge the gap between high-performance "Flow" and the catastrophic "Freeze" response.
This research is not merely theoretical; it is informed by a longitudinal analysis of a high-consequence motorsport event in 2017. It represents an effort to translate lived survival experience into a formal technical architecture that can be tested and applied in safety-critical fields. Drawing from neuroscience, systems safety, and human factors engineering, this study identifies a specific transitional regime. In this state, the human system shifts control authority from deliberative, slow-processing optimization toward fast, procedural continuity. It positions the "Tafheena" state as a specific "failover" mode of the human system designed to maintain trajectory coherence when traditional decision-making is no longer viable. Key Technical Markers: Control Arbitration: The mechanism of the H1 to H2/H3 handover.
Operational Criteria: Defined by the interaction of Irreversible Constraint (IC), Time Pressure (TP), Reduced Explicit Reasoning (ER↓), and Increased Action Continuity (AC↑).
This work establishes a formal terminology and structure intended for critique and empirical investigation by the research community, particularly those working in aviation, surgery, emergency response, and human–machine interaction (HMI). The Tafheena model is introduced as part of the broader Graskheenics framework, which investigates decision continuity under irreversible constraint.

Notes (English)

Version 2 (March 2026)

This version clarifies the boundary-state definition and expands the
formal description of control handover under irreversible constraint.
Minor structural revisions and wording improvements have been made
throughout the manuscript.

The Tafheena model is introduced as part of the broader Graskheenics framework, which investigates decision continuity under irreversible constraint.
