Signing Barcelona: Context, Consideration and Next Steps for UZH

This presentation was given at the SOAD (Swiss Open Academic Data) Online event on 11 March 2026. The topic of the event was "The Barcelona Declaration in Switzerland" and featured three speakers from the three institutions/organisations in Switzerland who had signed the Barcelona Declaration at that point.

The presentation outlines the situation at UZH as a comprehensive university and the disadvantages of using closed infrastructures, the reasons why UZH signed the Barcelona Declaration, the role of the Working Group Open Science in that decision, and the next steps that are planned.
