Habitar o lugar do outro: imigração, estranheza e etnoficção na criação cinematográfica de Moema
Description
This essay presents a theoretical and methodological reflection on the creative process behind the short film Moema, which follows the everyday life of a young Brazilian woman who has recently arrived in Lisbon. Drawing on the contemporary experience of Brazilian migration to Portugal, the text analyzes how the film seeks to represent cinematically the sense of displacement and estrangement experienced by migrant subjects. The reflection mobilizes the concept of the “stranger” developed by Georg Simmel and engages with Gilles Deleuze’s ideas on the act of cinematic creation. The essay also discusses the use of narrative strategies close to ethnofiction and the sensory construction of urban spaces as central elements in the representation of the migratory experience.
