THE ROLE OF SEMANTIC FACTORS IN THE SPEECH REALIZATION OF SYNTACTIC FORMS

Authors/Creators

Description

This article examines the role of semantic factors in the speech realization of syntactic forms. It explores the interrelation between a sentence’s grammatical structure and its semantic content, the characteristics of syntactic constructions in actual speech, and issues of semantic–syntactic asymmetry. Furthermore, the study discusses the influence of the principles of economy and redundancy on sentence construction, as well as the role of presupposition and the functions of implicit and explicit meanings in discourse. The research aims to clarify the interaction between syntax and semantics and to investigate the grammatical and semantic potential of sentences.
