Gender Gap Report – Arab Republic of Egypt 2025: An Institutional Analytical Reading Based on the Global Gender Gap Report 2025

Description

performance in the Global Gender Gap Index 2025, based on the data and indicators presented in the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report 2025. The analysis examines Egypt’s position across the four core dimensions of the index: Economic Participation and Opportunity, Educational Attainment, Health and Survival, and Political Empowerment.

The report adopts an institutional analytical approach developed by the Research and Studies Unit at Professional Tools for Training and Capacity Building, aiming to move beyond descriptive presentation of the index toward a deeper interpretation of the structural dynamics shaping gender gaps in the Arab region.

Findings indicate that Egypt achieves relatively strong performance in health and education indicators, reflecting the accumulated gains in human capital formation. However, the analysis also reveals persistent structural challenges in economic participation and political empowerment, where the translation of women’s educational achievements into broader labor market participation, income parity, and decision-making representation remains limited.

Within the broader Arab Gender Gap Reports Series (2026 Edition), this report contributes to building a comparative analytical framework for understanding gender equality trajectories in Arab countries. It aims to support evidence-based policy discussions and encourage institutional dialogue on the mechanisms required to transform human capital gains into sustainable economic and political participation.
