Description

This study examines the reliability of manufacturing systems in Ghana by employing multilevel regression analysis to understand their performance and factors influencing them. This study employs multilevel regression analysis to evaluate the performance of manufacturing systems in Ghana. It examines data at both individual plant levels and aggregated regional levels, using a mixed-effects model to account for hierarchical structures within the data. The findings indicate that environmental conditions significantly influence system reliability, with plants operating under more favorable climatic conditions showing higher reliability rates (60% vs. 45%, p < 0.05). Multilevel regression analysis is a robust method for evaluating manufacturing systems' reliability in Ghana, providing insights into the environmental factors affecting their performance. Policy recommendations include focusing on improving infrastructure and implementing climate-resilient technologies to enhance system reliability across different regions of Ghana. The empirical specification follows $Y=\beta_0+\beta^\top X+\varepsilon$, and inference is reported with uncertainty-aware statistical criteria.
