El presente documento describe la experiencia de implementación del proyecto “Restauración de ecosistemas con medidas de Adaptación basada en Ecosistemas (AbE), con enfoque de igualdad de género e inclusión social (GESI) en la Comunidad Campesina Samanga”, en la provincia de Ayabaca, región Piura.

Entre noviembre del 2023 y julio del 2025, el Fondo Regional del Agua - FORASAN Piura, implementó este proyecto, con el soporte técnico y financiero de la Fundación Futuro Latinoamericano (FFLA) y la Alianza Clima y Desarrollo (CDKN, por sus siglas en inglés), en el marco del Programa de Pequeñas Subvenciones; contando con la participación del Gobierno Regional de Piura, la Autoridad Nacional del Agua (ANA) del Perú, la Municipalidad Provincial de Ayabaca y el Proyecto Infraestructura Natural para la Seguridad Hídrica (NIWS por sus siglas en inglés). El diseño del proyecto se fundamentó en la identicación de necesidades expresadas por los propios actores, que favoreció su apropiación, fortaleció la sostenibilidad de las intervenciones y posibilitó el logro de los resultados previstos.

Esta sistematización del proyecto considera una mirada integral entre los componentes técnicos, sociales y culturales de la experiencia, donde destaca el rol protagónico de mujeres, hombres y jóvenes de las organizaciones comunales y de la institución educativa local. El documento busca inspirar y orientar las futuras intervenciones en territorios de importancia hídrica como son las nacientes de agua en la cuenca Chira Piura.

This document describes the implementation of the project “Ecosystem restoration through Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) measures, with a focus on gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) in the Samanga Rural Community”, in the province of Ayabaca, Piura region.

Between November 2023 and July 2025, the Regional Water Fund – FORASAN Piura implemented this project, with technical and financial support from the Fundación Futuro Latinoamericano (FFLA) and the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN), within the framework of the Small Grants Programme; with the participation of the Regional Government of Piura, the National Water Authority (ANA) of Peru, the Provincial Municipality of Ayabaca and the Natural Infrastructure for Water Security (NIWS) Project. The project design was based on the identification of needs expressed by the stakeholders themselves, which fostered their ownership, strengthened the sustainability of the interventions and enabled the achievement of the expected results.

This project synthesis takes a holistic view of the technical, social and cultural components of the experience, highlighting the leading role played by women, men and young people from community organisations and the local educational institution. The document aims to inspire and guide future interventions in areas of water importance, such as the water sources in the Chira Piura basin.
