Description

Morocco is a significant player in renewable energy integration, particularly through its extensive solar power projects. Energy storage solutions are crucial for enhancing grid stability and integrating variable renewable energy sources. A structured survey was conducted among key stakeholders, including government officials, utility companies, and industry experts. Respondents were asked to rate their familiarity with different types of energy storage solutions and assess their perceived benefits and challenges. The survey revealed that a majority of respondents (75%) are familiar with battery-based energy storage systems as the most promising solution for grid stability, although interest in pumped hydro storage is also significant among smaller segments of respondents (20%). Moroccan stakeholders recognise the importance of energy storage solutions for renewable integration and grid stability. However, concerns about initial investment costs and technical feasibility remain. Further research should focus on assessing cost-effectiveness and scalability of different storage technologies in Moroccan contexts to inform policy decisions. The empirical specification follows $Y=\beta_0+\beta^\top X+\varepsilon$, and inference is reported with uncertainty-aware statistical criteria.
