Description
CasSeeker is a tool designed to mine CRISPR arrays and their associated proteins (particularly those containing HEPN domains) from microbial genomic contigs. It integrates the gene prediction tool Prodigal and the CRISPR identification tool PILER-CR, and uses custom Perl scripts to filter, locate, and extract sequences. The final output is a FASTA file of protein sequences located within a specified range upstream and downstream of CRISPR arrays, providing data support for functional studies of CRISPR-Cas systems and the discovery of novel Cas effectors.
