Digital Preservation Paradigms in West African Cultural Heritage Contexts

The digital age has transformed how cultural heritage is preserved and accessed globally, with significant implications for West African contexts such as Cape Verde. No empirical results are presented; instead, this study employs a qualitative approach to explore existing literature and conceptual frameworks relevant to digital preservation within the specified geographic and thematic scope. The theoretical framework proposed addresses these challenges by integrating existing models with specific considerations relevant to West African contexts, providing guidance for stakeholders aiming to enhance digital preservation efforts. Stakeholders are encouraged to adopt a multi-faceted strategy that includes community engagement, capacity building, and the implementation of robust data management practices to ensure long-term accessibility of cultural heritage.
