Description

Deliverable D4.4 presents the methodological framework and quantitative assessment results developed under Task 4.4 “Studying NET-Fuels impact in the society” of Work Package 4 (Sustainability and carbon sink assessment). The task investigates the economy-wide effects associated with the deployment and scale-up of NET-Fuels technology by means of an environmentally extended input-output modelling approach based on the EXIOBASE3 database. 

A simplified calculation tool (Excel-based calculator) is here presented as a complementary tool to support transparency, reproducibility, and usability of the deliverable results by stakeholders and policy makers. It is possible to insert an hypothetical amount of biomass treated per year. Based on the results of NET-Fuels impact assessment (T4.4), and the relationships between NET-Fuels scale-up and its impact on the global economy, it is possible to calculate the economic effect of such technology expansion on the main sectors both for EU and rest of the world (RoW). The excel calculator allows to perform projections to 2030 and 2050 scenarios.
