INTEGRATION OF THE STEAM APPROACH INTO THE PRIMARY EDUCATION PROCESS: THEORETICAL FOUNDATIONS AND PRACTICAL MODEL

This article provides a scientific analysis of the theoretical and pedagogical foundations for integrating the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) approach into primary education and proposes a practical implementation model. The methodological framework is based on interdisciplinary integration, competency-based education, constructivist learning theory, and the development of creative thinking. Particular attention is given to the age characteristics, cognitive development levels, and motivational factors of primary school students. The study presents an integrative lesson model, mechanisms for organizing project-based learning, problem-based instruction, and experimental activities. The significance of the STEAM approach in developing critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving skills, and practical competencies among learners is substantiated. The findings contribute to identifying effective strategies for implementing innovative pedagogical technologies within the primary education system.
