Beyond Sectors: Series Architecture and Research Program

Authors/Creators

Description

Beyond Sectors is a multi-volume research project on the breakdown of the sectoral worldview and the emergence of a post-sectoral condition. For more than two centuries, modern societies understood themselves through the categories of agriculture, industry, and services. These sectors did not merely describe economic activity; they structured labour, institutions, education, urban form, political expectations, and the grammar through which social reality became legible.

This working paper presents the current series architecture of Beyond Sectors as of March 2026. It outlines the conceptual scope and internal logic of six projected volumes. Volumes I–V constitute the core theoretical architecture of the project: Volume I reconstructs the structural transformation of the sectoral world; Volume II develops the concept of the Structural Islanding Effect; Volume III introduces the post-sectoral condition as a durable structural reality; Volume IV formulates the epistemological shift from truth toward reliability, orientation, and responsible stabilization; and Volume V examines human orientation under conditions of AI-driven sense production through concepts such as Orientation-Based Inquiry (OBI), the TID triad, and ICE-D.

Volume VI, Post-Sectoral Education, extends this framework into a distinct field of inquiry. It examines how education must be rethought under post-sectoral conditions in which orientation, exploratory endurance, and responsible judgment become more important than the reproduction of correct answers. The purpose of this paper is not to present finished manuscripts of the projected volumes, but to document the current research architecture, define the conceptual relations between the volumes, and establish a citable framework for further development.

The paper should be read as a programmatic research statement and architectural overview. It is published in order to stabilize the current conceptual structure of the project, clarify the relation between its volumes, and open the framework for future refinement, elaboration, and versioned continuation.
