Enabling Intelligent Systems Using Data Science and Unified IoT -Centric Decision Intelligence Framework: A Multi-Domain Review

Description

Data science is emerging as a key player in transforming industries by processing huge volume of data generated from the
Fourth Industrial Revolution. Integration of Internet-of-Things(IoT) and 5G can make industrial operations to be more efficient
through real-time, large-scale connectivity and automation processes. In spite of this, organizations still encounter challenges in the form of the absence of a data-driven culture, obsolete infrastructure, and difficulty in collecting and integrating data from diverse sources. Data access restrictions because of ownership issues and weak third-party collaborations also add on to these challenges. The applications and challenges of data science continue to change, making an immense difference in various sectors as the domain of data science is evolving. This paper presents a review of the applications of data science in manufacturing, healthcare, smart cities, and education, and proposes a conceptual model for using data science across different industries along with proposing a unified IoT Centric decision intelligence framework.
