Impact of Special Program in the Arts Curriculum Implementation on Students' Learning Domains

This study focused on the impact of the Special Program in the Arts (SPA) on students’ learning domains among select
SPA schools within the Division of Cagayan de Oro City. It aimed to determine the extent of SPA curriculum implementation in
terms of teachers’ practices, learning resource materials, and assessment, the level of impact on the cognitive, affective, a nd
psychomotor domains, its significant relationship between the variables, and which dimensions singly or in combination predict
these learning domains. The study employed correlational and causal research designs. The respondents in this study were 124
SPA students, selected through stratified random sampling. An adapted and validated survey questionnaire was used in the study.
Weighted Mean, Standard Deviation, Pearson Product Moment Correlation, and Multiple Linear Regression were used for
statistical analysis. Results revealed that the SPA curriculum is very hi ghly implemented and students’ learning domains are very
high. There is a low to moderate significant relationship between curriculum implementation and students’ learning domains,
with teachers’ practices and learning resource materials identified as the strongest predictors. The study concludes that effective
SPA curriculum implementation substantially enhances holistic learner development. Thus, it is recommended that SPA schools
may strengthen resource provision and continuous professional development for teacher-specialists to sustain and improve
program results.
