GIS Chat for ESA SNAP Desktop: AI-Powered Natural Language Assistant

GIS Chat for ESA SNAP Desktop is an open-source NetBeans module (Java 21/Swing) that embeds an LLM-powered chat panel directly inside ESA SNAP. Users describe remote sensing operations in natural language; the plugin injects live product context (open products, bands, pixel types, CRS) into the prompt and the LLM generates and executes GPT commands or Python/snappy code via structured tool calling. Zero external dependencies. Supports five LLM providers including free options (Google Gemini, Ollama). Optional Google Earth Engine integration with adaptive tiled downloading enables satellite data retrieval from the chat panel.
