Notes on the margin of a book: The Iconography of Witchcraft in Romanian Religious Art. An Essay in Visual Anthropology (Abstract) This commentary addresses the methodology used by the target book to engage with various components of the documentary set, on multiple levels: history of arts (iconography, religious art), late antique and medieval literature (apocrypha), ethno-anthropology (stemming into visual anthropology, ethnology, folk-lore studies) and history of mentalities (witchcraft being addressed primarily by historical anthropology).
