Description

Intangible Heritage Put to Use in a Geopark (Abstract) The article focuses on the way intangible heritage, a symbolic system that creates cultural identity, is used in the heritage-making process in order to reinforce the social cohesion of local communities. It is based on the research activity, and cultural interventions, of the researchers from the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant, in collaboration with specialists from the Faculty of Geology (University of Bucharest), when creating small local exhibitions and cultural events in the communities situated in two geoparks: UNESCO International Geopark "Country of Hațeg" , and the aspiring UNESCO Geopark, "Buzău Land" .
