Description
This FAIR dataset accompanies the study:
"Non-invasive Acoustic Characterization of a Bronze Age Rock Context: Impulse Response Mapping at La Escena (El Cantalar, Iberia)".
The dataset contains the raw and processed acoustic impulse responses recorded during a field experiment conducted at the archaeological site of El Cantalar (Foia de Castalla, Alicante, Spain).
Impulse responses were generated using balloon acoustic impulses and recorded in the field. The recordings were analysed using Room EQ Wizard (REW) to extract impulse responses and identify early acoustic reflections produced by the surrounding topography.
Temporal delays between the direct impulse and subsequent reflections were converted into acoustic path differences in order to estimate the spatial distribution of the main reflecting surfaces in the landscape.
The dataset includes raw audio recordings, extracted impulse responses, REW project files, processed data tables and the figures used in the associated publication.
The structure of the dataset follows FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) to ensure reproducibility and transparency of the acoustic analysis.
