Enhancing Data Security in Cloud Computing Using Encryption Techniques
Description
Cloud computing has been one of the most popular technologies in storing and managing massive amounts of digital data, thanks to its scalability, flexibility, and cost efficiency. However, despite its numerous advantages, cloud computing has introduced multiple security issues, particularly regarding data confidentiality, integrity, and privacy. Because user data is stored on remote servers managed by third-party providers, unauthorized access, breaches, and privacy leaks remain serious issues that prevent broader adoption of cloud services. As a result, robust data protection mechanisms must be in place in cloud environments. Encryption methods are effective approaches for securing sensitive data in cloud computing systems. This paper analyzes the role of encryption techniques in enhancing data security in cloud computing environments. The research covers different cryptographic algorithms commonly used, including symmetric and asymmetric encryption methods such as the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and Rivest–Shamir–Adleman (RSA). Additionally, the paper analyzes how these encryption mechanisms can enhance the confidentiality and integrity of data stored in the cloud while mitigating potential security threats. The research indicates that using strong encryption methods to protect data significantly strengthens data protection and increases trust in cloud computing services
