Description

Earth’s oceans cover more than seventy percent of the planet’s surface, yet a vast portion of their ecosystems remain unexplored. Advances in ocean acoustics, marine renewable energy, environmental DNA (eDNA) analysis, and autonomous ocean monitoring technologies now make it possible to envision a planet-scale listening network capable of continuously observing the acoustic activity of the world’s oceans.
