Greek Rapid Intervention Doctrine in the Eastern Mediterranean: Naval–Air Power Projection for the Defense of Cyprus and Regional Stability

This working paper examines the strategic feasibility of a Greek rapid intervention framework designed to reinforce the security of Cyprus and contribute to regional stability in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The study analyzes the integration of naval power, air power, and missile defense capabilities within a flexible multi-domain security architecture. Particular attention is given to the operational role of modern naval platforms, forward-deployed air assets, and layered air-defense systems in strengthening deterrence and safeguarding maritime routes.

By examining the broader geopolitical context of the Eastern Mediterranean, the paper argues that the development of rapid reinforcement capabilities can contribute to regional stability while protecting critical maritime corridors and energy infrastructure.
