Description

The editors of IASSIST Quarterly, Ofira Schwartz and Michele Hayslett, will share updates on the journal’s progress toward meeting the requirements for Scopus review and potential inclusion in its index. While substantial progress has been made, a critical prerequisite is the establishment of a data policy. The editorial board has prepared a draft policy stipulating that authors must submit all data underlying the figures and tables presented in their manuscripts, accompanied by appropriate documentation explaining the data. While input has been solicited from a variety of stakeholders, this is an opportunity for the broader membership to review the draft and contribute their perspectives. On the agenda: (1) Brief presentation by the editors on the journal’s progress toward Scopus review; (2) Open discussion with the editors regarding the proposed data policy; (3) Call for volunteers to serve as data reviewers for manuscripts (a role distinct from those who review article text). The draft data policy and information about Scopus’ requirements will be shared with those who register in advance of the meeting.
