Training and Educational Toolkit I

This deliverable, i.e., D5.1 – “Training and Educational Toolkit I”, presents the initial design and development phase of the COMFORTage Training Programme under Task 5.1 – “Continuous Learning through Training Materials & Guidelines”. This task aims to bridge digital and health literacy gaps and empower key user groups—older adults, informal caregivers and healthcare professionals—through an inclusive, personalised, and modular learning framework. The Training Programme is grounded in a people-centred pedagogical approach that promotes self-awareness, self-empowerment and behavioural change. It draws upon desk research, co-design methods, and end-user needs assessments to ensure relevance and adaptability to diverse learning needs and digital readiness levels. Moreover, D5.1 – “Training and Educational Toolkit I” builds on Work Package 2 work—particularly D2.1 – “State of the art and requirements analysis I” and D2.4 – “People-Centred System Design I”—which informed the technical requirements, user personas, and needs assessment guiding the designing of the COMFORTage Training Programme, as detailed in the following sections.

The deliverable also introduces the first prototypes of the two core technical components: the Training and Educational Toolkit (TET), which provides the infrastructure for the interactive educational content to be operated; and the Training and Educational Marketplace (TEM), a curated repository of digital health applications and tools. Together, they constitute a scalable and user-friendly platform to support continuous learning and digital inclusion within the COMFORTage ecosystem. D5.1 – “Training and Educational Toolkit I” lays the groundwork for the Training Programme’s localisation, multilingual adaptation and pilot deployment across participating sites. The insights and tools presented here will be further refined and validated in the upcoming D5.2 – “Training and Educational Toolkit II”, following user testing and integration into real-life community and care environments
