Description

District hospitals in South Africa play a critical role in primary healthcare delivery, yet their effectiveness varies widely. A stratified random sampling design was employed to select districts for the study. Patient data were collected over six months using standardised tools. The intervention group demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in patient recovery times (mean reduction of 15%, $p < 0.05$). The randomized field trial confirmed the need for system-wide improvements to enhance clinical outcomes in district hospitals. District hospital managers should prioritise resource allocation and staff training based on findings from this study. district hospitals, clinical outcomes, randomized trials, South Africa
