Replication material for paper "Freihardt, J., Rudolph, L., & Koubi, V.: Panel data on mobility, socio-economic, and political impacts of riverbank erosion and flooding in Bangladesh"

This deposit contains the replication code for the figures and tables in the paper "Panel data on mobility, socio-economic, and political impacts of riverbank erosion and flooding in Bangladesh".

The replication files cover Figure 2 (distance from river bank), Figure 7 (perceived impact of COVID-19 on migration plans), Figure 8 (validation of satellite-based erosion assessment against self-reported house loss), Figure 9 (panel attrition by wave and migrant type), Figure 10 (number of survey waves participated), Table 1 (descriptive statistics across waves), and Figures S1–S8 (equivalence tests).

Scripts for Figures 2, 7, 8, 9, 10, and Table 1 are written in R and use the BEMPdata package (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18775709), which downloads the survey data automatically from Zenodo on first run — no separate data download is needed. The script for Figure 8 additionally requires the file fig8_df_distances.csv, which is included in this deposit and contains ArcGIS-derived distances and angles of household locations to the riverbank. Scripts for Figures S1–S8 consist of a Stata do-file (to prepare the input data) and an R script (to produce the plots); they require the BEMP wave data in Stata format, available from the BEMP data deposit (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18229497).
