Conformational correction in trans of CFTR-F508del using a prion-like template: a novel therapeutic strategy for cystic fibrosis

This proposal was developed during a visiting exchange year at the University of St Andrews (Scotland, UK) by a student enrolled at Sorbonne Université (Paris, France). It outlines an original hypothesis for the therapeutic correction of CFTR-F508del misfolding in cystic fibrosis, based on the repurposing of the prion conformational conversion mechanism as a trans-acting folding template.
