In the Sangam period, job and earning money was the main occupation of men. Until the leader (Thalaivan) earns money, the beloved (Thalaivi) looks after the house. The money that the leader brings is useful for them and for their dependents. They lived by sharing everything what they have with others. “I never lie to live: I tell the truth to live” was the life principle of the Sangam ancestors of that time.
