Description
The RISCHiA-Re database is a regional-scale inventory of shallow-water submarine landslides (< 100 m of depth), targeting seafloor sectors generally considered morphologically stable and not particularly prone to slope failure. The dataset includes 38 morphometric parameters of 90 landslides depicted along the Campania continental margin (Southern Italy, eastern Tyrrhenian Sea), a region characterized by active volcanism and seismicity.
The RISCHiA-Re database provides a reliable resource to accomplish quantitative and comparative studies, to support hazard assessment and landslide susceptibility analysis, and to give a small contribution to the understanding of shallow-water landslide phenomena.

README.txt
This repository contains data on shallow-water submarine landslides mapped offshore of the Campania coast (Southern Italy, Eastern Tyrrhenian Sea), with landslide apexes occurring at water depths shallower than 100 m. The dataset includes tabular morphometric parameters (RISCHIA-RE Dataset), landslide features, bathymetric data, and associated metadata, organized as follows:
RISCHIA-Re Dataset
* File: RISCHIA-RE_dataset.xls
* Description: the dataset contains quantitative morphometric parameters and qualitative descriptors of landslide scar crowns and source areas.
* Format: Microsoft Excel (.xls)
* Usage: The data in the Excel file can be linked to the landslide features (scar crowns and source areas) through the unique landslide identifier (ID).
Landslide Features
* Files:
scar_crowns.shp - shapefile containing the polyline geometries of the scar crowns.
scar_crowns.shx - shape index file used to access geometries efficiently.
scar_crowns.dbf - attribute table storing information on the scar crowns.
scar_crowns.prj - projection file defining the coordinate reference system.
source_areas.shp - shapefile containing the polygon geometries of the source areas.
source_areas.shx - shape index file used to access the geometries efficiently.
source_areas.dbf - attribute table containing information on the source_areas.
source_areas.prj - projection file defining the coordinate reference system.
* Description: the dataset includes two shapefiles of landslide scar crowns and source areas.
* Format: ESRI Shapefile
* Usage: files can be loaded into GIS environment for visualization and spatial analysis. Each feature is associated with the RISCHIA-RE_dataset.xls through the unique landslide identifier (ID).
Geomorphological Features
* Files:
physiographic setting.shp - shapefile containing the polygon geometries of the physiographic settings.
physiographic setting.shx - shape index file used to access geometries efficiently.
physiographic setting.dbf - attribute table storing information on the physiographic settings.
physiographic setting,prj - projection file defining the coordinate reference system.
geological domain.shp - shapefile containing the polygon geometries of the geological domains.
geological domain.shx - shape index file used to access the geometries efficiently.
geological domain.dbf - attribute table containing information on the geological domains.
geological domain.prj - projection file defining the coordinate reference system.
* Description: the dataset includes two shapefiles of physiographic settings and geological domains of the study area.
* Format: ESRI Shapefile
* Usage: files can be loaded into GIS environment for visualization and spatial analysis.

* Description: the ASCII grid files span seven sectors of the study area where shallow-water mass failures are clustered.
* Format: ASCII Grid (.asc)
* Usage: files can be loaded into GIS environment for visualization and grid analysis.
Metadata
* File: RISCHIA-Re metadata
* Description: Metadata were created in QGIS in accordance with the UTF-8 standard and provide information on the dataset, spatial reference system, geographic extent, data format, attributes, licences, access conditions, and data provider.
* Format: pdf
* Usage: the metadata provide guidance on how to interpret and use the datasets correctly.
