PhantomRoot: Neutralizing Zero-Day Privilege Escalation through Structural Deception and Volatile Shadow Layering
Description
This work presents PhantomRoot, a structural isolation approach that neutralizes privilege escalation attacks by redirecting attacker writes to a volatile shadow layer using OverlayFS. Experimental results demonstrate 100% integrity preservation (0.0% change rate) and a mean isolation trigger latency (ITL) of 10.1 ms. This repository contains the manuscript and the evaluation datasets. Note: The core implementation is under patent pending (Japan Patent Office).
