This collection brings together photographs created by Amaya Cobos Villagrana during the World Anthropological Union (WAU) 2025 Congress, a hybrid (in-person and online) event held in Antigua, Guatemala from November 3–8, 2025, with pre-congress activities in Guatemala City from October 28–31, 2025. The set documents academic and institutional moments—panels, roundtables, paper presentations, workshops, and keynote events—alongside the everyday life of the congress: venues, audiences, interactions, technical work, informal gatherings, and scenes of collaboration among participants. These images serve both as a visual record and as a public memory of the congress, capturing its scale, diversity, and the lived experience of hybridity.
Abstract (Spanish)
Esta colección reúne las fotografías realizadas por Amaya Cobos Villagrana durante el Congreso de la Unión Antropológica Mundial (WAU) 2025, un encuentro híbrido (presencial y en línea) celebrado en Antigua Guatemala del 3 al 8 de noviembre de 2025, con actividades de precongreso en Ciudad de Guatemala del 28 al 31 de octubre de 2025. El conjunto documenta momentos académicos e institucionales —paneles, mesas redondas, ponencias, talleres y conferencias— así como la vida cotidiana del congreso: espacios, públicos, interacciones, trabajo técnico, encuentros informales y escenas de colaboración entre participantes. Las imágenes funcionan como registro visual y como memoria pública del congreso, aportando contexto sobre su escala, diversidad y la experiencia híbrida del evento.
