Description
Negeta luminosa (Walker, 1858d)
COMMON NAME(S): Luminous Cloud.
SYNONYM(S): Micra lacteola Mabille, 1880e; Thalpochares parectata Wallengren, 1863; Cilix tenax Saalmuller, 1884.
IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE).
DISTRIBUTION: Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritania, Mozambique, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, Tanzania, Yemen, Zambia. Zimbabwe.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: ‘Lusaka’, in Lusaka Province.
LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Larval foodplants include: two Combretaceae species, Combretum molle R.Br. ex G.Don and Terminalia ivorensis A.Chev.; one Myrtaceae species, Corymbia torelliana (F.Muell.) K.D.Hill & L.A.S.Johnson and one yet to be identified Malvaceae species, Gossypium sp. (African Moths 2019).
