A Categorical and Informational Foundation of Ilon Ontology (ATI 1)

Authors/Creators

Description

This work presents the first mathematically rigorous formulation of Ilon Ontology, establishing a complete categorical and informational foundation for the theory. Ilons are introduced as primitive, irreducible ontological generators, modeled as objects of a discrete category. Informational emergence is formalized through a functor

G:I→INF,

where INF is interpreted as the category of informational states (Set). Reality is then constructed as the colimit of this functor:

Reality  ≅  colim(G).

This equation constitutes the core of the theory: reality is the universal informational structure generated by ilons.

The paper proves:

  • Existence of Reality (Set is cocomplete).

  • Uniqueness of Reality up to isomorphism (universal property of the colimit).

  • Well foundedness (no infinite regress below ilons).

  • Absence of ontological self reference (Reality cannot be an ilon).

  • Existence of a minimal informational model.

  • Relative consistency (ATI 1 has a model inside ZFC).

A concrete model is provided by taking I as the category of singleton sets and interpreting informational generators as sets Si. This yields a fully explicit construction of Reality as a disjoint union of informational states, satisfying the colimit universal property.

The framework is compatible with higher layers of the Axiomatic Theory of Ilons (ATI 0…ATI 5). In particular:

  • ATI 0 (Potentiality) corresponds to the pre categorical condition enabling differentiation.

  • ATI 1 (this paper) provides the categorical core.

  • ATI 2 interprets ilonic dynamics as functorial transformations.

  • ATI 3 interprets observation, interpretation, and meaning as structural transformations in INF.

  • ATI 4 and ATI 5 extend the framework to agents, behavior, coordination, and collective structures.

Future work includes defining the physical realization functor

F:Set→P,

mapping informational structures to physically interpretable configurations, and developing monoidal, topological, and quantum extensions of the theory.

This publication establishes the mathematical foundation of Ilon Ontology and secures the core results: atomicity, emergence, functoriality, colimit construction, uniqueness, and relative consistency. This publication presents the mathematical core of Ilon Ontology (ATI 1). A more extensive monograph, covering ATI 0 through ATI 5 and physical realization functors, is currently in preparation and will be published separately.
