Description
This dataset contains the data produced in the development of a global and country-level architectural database for urban climate modeling. It includes:
-
Final results: Worldwide building typologies (CSV, GPKG) and illustrative figures.
-
Intermediate data: raw and corrected survey data, and records of regional data completion strategies.
These datasets offer information on key building characteristics, including walls, roofs, windows, HVAC systems, infiltration, and shading. Residential buildings are detailed with country-specific data, while non-residential buildings are represented by globally uniform typologies. The final datasets were constructed through a robust multi-step process comprising:
-
Variable definition
-
Survey implementation
-
Participatory data collection via survey
-
Response verification and correction
-
Typology filtering and classification
-
Multi-source data imputation with transparent flagging
Details of the methodology are fully described in the associated publication.
