PHILOSOPHICAL APPROACHES TO TRUTH AND THE PROBLEM OF ITS CRITERIA
Authors/Creators
Description
The concept of truth has been one of the central problems of philosophy since antiquity. Philosophers have proposed different theories to explain what truth is and how it can be identified. This article analyzes major philosophical approaches to truth, including correspondence theory, coherence theory, and pragmatic theory. The study evaluates the criteria used to determine truth and examines their strengths and limitations. The findings suggest that while no single theory fully explains truth in all contexts, a combined approach provides a more comprehensive understanding. Truth remains a fundamental category in epistemology and scientific inquiry.
