The Role of Emerging Technologies in Boosting Digital India: A Study of Opportunities and Challenges

Digital India is a flagship initiative launched by the Government of India to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge based economy. Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), block chain, internet of things (IoT), big data analytics, cloud computing, and 5G play a significant role in accelerating this transformation. This research paper examines the role of emerging technologies in boosting Digital India by analyzing the key opportunities and challenges associated with their adoption. The study highlights how these technologies enhance e-governance, improve service delivery, promote financial inclusion, support smart infrastructure, and strengthen sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, and industry. Emerging technologies also create new employment opportunities, innovation, and thereby improve efficiency and transparency in public administration. The study also identifies several challenges associated with the adoption of emerging technologies and provide possible solutions to overcome these barriers. The study suggest that emerging technologies have immense potential to strengthen Digital India mission through inclusive and sustainable digital growth.
