Description

“The Origins of Vitoria-Gasteiz: Immersive Visit with Virtual Reconstruction” is an audiovisual VR series created within the 2020 research and knowledge-transfer project “Didactics of Virtual Reality in Tourism and Heritage Dissemination” (Art. 83 LOU contract) in collaboration with the Santa María Cathedral Foundation (Vitoria-Gasteiz). The series translates historical and archaeological research into public-oriented immersive experiences, combining audiovisual communication and computational 3D/VR methods to support heritage education and cultural tourism. Designed mainly as high-resolution 360° VR videos for comfortable headset viewing (minimal camera motion), it guides visitors through key phases of the Cathedral of Santa María and its urban context (12th–14th centuries), using clear narrative structure and didactic transitions to improve spatial understanding and interpretation.
