தொகையிலக்கியமும் பார்ப்பாரும்

இக்கட்டுரை அகநானூறு 340ஆம் பாடலை முதன்மை உரையாகக் கொண்டு அதன் திணை–துறைச் சார்பு, கட்டமைப்பு, அழகியல், அரசியல்–சமூக வரலாற்றுக் கூறுகள் ஆகியவற்றை நுட்பமாகப் பகுப்பாய்வு செய்கிறது. குறிப்பாக, 14–15ஆம் அடிகளிலும் 20ஆம் அடியிலும் காணப்படும் பாடவகை மாறுபாடுகள் உருவாகிய காரணத்தைப் புலப்படுத்துவது இவ்வாய்வின் மைய நோக்கமாகும். உரையாசிரியரின் விளக்கங்கள், தொடர்பு பெறும் சங்கத் தொகுப்புப் பாடல்கள், சமகால ஆய்வாளர்களின் கருத்துக்கள் மற்றும் காட்சி ஊடகங்களில் தோன்றும் புலனாய்வுகளும் இரண்டாம்நிலைத் தரவுகளாகக் கருதப்படுகின்றன.

இவ்வாய்வு முதல்–கரு–உரிப்பொருள் அடிப்படையிலான பாடல் கட்டமைப்பை வினைவழியாக ஆராய்ந்து, இறைச்சி உவமை போன்ற அகக்கவிதைச் செல்வாக்குகள் உருவாக்கும் அழகியல் மெருகை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறது. கூடுதலாக, பாடலில் இடம்பெறும் தொண்டைமானைச் சார்ந்த அரசியல்–சமூக வரலாற்று சுட்டுகளும், அதனுடன் பின்னிக்கொள்ளும் தொன்மவுணர்வுகளும் பரவலாக விவாதிக்கப்படுகின்றன. பாடவேறுபாடுகளின் காரணம், உரை பரம்பரையின் அமைப்பு, மற்றும் உள்ளார்ந்த பொருள்மாற்றங்கள் ஆகியவை ஆராயப்பட்டு, அகக்கவிதையின் முழுமையான இலக்கிய இன்பத்தை நுண்மையாக உணர்த்துவதே இக்கட்டுரையின் முதன்மைத் தொலைநோக்காகும். 

This article offers a detailed exegetical study of Akanāṉūṟu 340, examining its thematic structure, thinai–thurai classification, aesthetic strategies, and political–sociohistorical resonances. A central objective of this study is to resolve the textual variants found in lines 14–15 and line 20, thereby clarifying their implications for the poem’s narrative and interpretive coherence. The primary source for this analysis is the hymn itself, supplemented by traditional commentaries, modern critical interpretations, intertextual references from other Sangam anthologies, and relevant visual or media resources, which collectively function as secondary data. 

Through a close reading grounded in the analytic framework of muthal, karu, and uripporul, the study delineates the internal architecture of the poem. Special emphasis is placed on the poem’s aesthetic density, including the deployment of iraicci-based similes and other figurative devices that enhance emotive depth within the akam tradition. The article further investigates the political and sociohistorical elements associated with King Thondaimān, along with the mythical allusions embedded within the poem. By interrogating the origins and significance of the textual variations, this research demonstrates how philological analysis and literary interpretation converge to enrich the understanding of classical Tamil poetics.
