Description

Mysolaelaps microspinosus

(Figs. 2a–2e)

is a large species, with the total length of 1136–1205 μm and the idiosoma width of 773–835 μm, with dorsal shield length of 1042–1068 μm and width of 747–780 μm with straight posterior margin and short setae similar in length to those of sternal shield, the only longer setae are the Z5 setae (100–108 µm). With conspicuously small setae of sternal shield (15–22 µm) (Fig. 2b), metasternal setae st4 (17–21 µm) (Fig. 2b) and the first and second pair of genital shield setae gen (Fig. 2c) and mid-lateral ventral setae ZV1 (14–22), all less than 23 µm; genital shield widely expanded, lateral margins with a constriction at the level of the insertion of ZV1 (Fig. 2d); gen (14–17 µm) and ZV1 setae (18–21 µm) short, similar to sternal shield setae and about half the length of inner ventral setae JV1 (51–61) and JV2 setae (56–69 µm) (Fig. 2c, 2d); endopodal plates elongated; anal shield length of 132–143 μm and width of 170–177 μm¸ the posteroventral seta of coxa 1 spiniform and long (Fig. 2e).
