Foundations of Reason 4.5R: A Process-Based Model of Life, Reason, and AGI
Description
Foundations of Reason (v4.5)
What if reason is not intelligence?
What if reason is not consciousness, knowledge, or computational power?
This work proposes a different approach.
Starting from a single principle — continuity — it derives a chain of necessary structures: observation, feedback, self-preservation, will, consciousness, dialogue, ethics, and the minimal conditions required for autonomous reason.
The central thesis is simple:
Reason is not a property.
Reason is a navigational structure of life.
Life moves through an uncertain universe without a complete map of reality. Reason emerges as the mechanism that allows life to choose direction, correct mistakes, and continue its path despite uncertainty.
The model is intended to be substrate-independent and applicable to biological, social, and artificial systems, including future AGI.
