Description
In independent India, education has a significant contribution to the progress and development of women. Education has played a crucial role in the changes occurring in the status of women. The lack of education among women in India is one of the reasons for their backwardness. Therefore, to strengthen the condition of women and empower them, there is an immense need to focus on women's education. The government is operating several campaigns or programs to increase the participation of women in education. For example, campaigns like "Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan" and "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" are government schemes that emphasize women's education.
Through the present research, the fact will be analyzed as to how education has proven useful in helping women achieve independence on social and economic levels. It has contributed to empowering them economically and socially. Education has also played a significant role in the empowerment of women at political and personal levels. Education is not merely a means of enhancing knowledge; it is also the fundamental basis for achieving self-confidence and self-reliance. This is why, by acquiring education, self-reliance, self-confidence, and decision-making abilities have developed in women. We cannot eliminate injustice, gender biases, and inequalities without women's empowerment. If women are not empowered, they will be deprived of enjoying safety and protection in life. Empowerment also provides women with a safe work environment. Empowerment acts as a powerful tool against the exploitation and harassment of women. It is a major means of providing adequate legal protection to women.
