THE INVENTION AND DEVELOPMENT OF SAORA SCRIPT: AN AUSTRO-ASIATIC LANGUAGE OF TRIBAL ODISHA

A Language be it with a script without, it helps us to share our thoughts, emotions, channelizing,
information, facilitating cooperation and the transmission of knowledge from one generation to another.
A script adds a lot of power to an oral expression not only to communicate one’s feelings but also
documenting them for future. In view of this, in 1936 Guru Mangei Gamango invented the Saora Script
called Sorang Sompeng. This present research paper is based on primary data collected on the Saora
Script. In this paper we discussed about the Saora Script and its explanation in the matter of invention
and development.
