Description

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming global healthcare systems by enhancing diagnostics, decision‑making, administrative workflows, patient engagement, and care personalization. This review synthesizes evidence from peer‑reviewed academic literature on the role of AI in healthcare and its influence on patient satisfaction. Core AI applications including predictive analytics, clinical decision support, patient monitoring technologies, and AI‑augmented communication tools show potential to improve patient outcomes, efficiency, and care experience across multiple settings. Literature indicates that patients generally report moderate to high satisfaction with AI‑enabled services when these tools contribute to better communication, reduced wait times, improved diagnosis, and personalised care interactions. However, limitations such as data privacy concerns, algorithmic bias, lack of human touch, and infrastructure challenges also emerge. Using Solapur District hospitals as a conceptual healthcare context, this review discusses implications for Indian public and co‑operative hospital settings, offering recommendations to enhance patient satisfaction through responsible AI integration.
