The study examines legal frameworks in post-conflict rebuilding efforts within Nigeria and other African states between and . A comparative study approach was employed to analyse legal documents, legislative changes, and judicial decisions from Nigeria and selected other African countries during the specified period. The findings indicate that there is a significant variation in how post-conflict rebuilding efforts are legally structured across different African states, with some adopting more robust legal frameworks than others. For instance, Nigeria's legal system has seen increased emphasis on community-based reparations and restorative justice practices compared to other examined countries. The study concludes that while there is a need for uniformity in post-conflict legal responses, each country must tailor its approach based on local context and cultural norms. Recommendations include the development of regional best practices guidelines and increased international collaboration to support sustainable rebuilding efforts in African states.
