The Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan (VBSA) Bill, 2025 (formerly known as the HECI Bill) represents the most significant structural overhaul of India’s higher education system since independence. Introduced in the Lok Sabha on December 15, 2025, it aims to fulfill the "light but tight" regulatory vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
