Hydro-chemical analysis of nutrients and heavy metals in three Swedish river ecosystems receiving wastewater effluents (2024)

This dataset provides comprehensive hydro-chemical profiles from three Swedish freshwater river systems impacted by recently upgraded Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs). Collected under the DANUBIUS-IP project (Horizon Europe, 101079778), the data supports research on the efficacy of WWTP upgrades in varied river ecosystems. The sampling was conducted in May and October 2024 by the Department of Wildlife, Fish & Environmental Studies, SLU. Analyses were performed in triplicates at the NIRD GeoEcoMar laboratory for nutrients (via UV-VIS spectrometry) and heavy metals (via ICP-MS).
