Description
Presents some of the features of the Carmelite Ordinale of Sibert de Beka, compiled before 1312, which prescribed for the Carmelite Friars a liturgy based on the Rite of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, which they had brought with them to Europe from their foundation in Crusader Palestine. Concludes with some reflection on contemporary and future Carmelite liturgical practice in the tradition of the Ordinale.
