ПОСТАТЬ ВИДАТНОЇ ПІАНІСТКИ ЯРОСЛАВИ МАТЮХИ В АСПЕКТІ СТАНОВЛЕННЯ НАЦІОНАЛЬНОЇ КОНЦЕРТМЕЙСТЕРСЬКОЇ ШКОЛИ

During the landmark periods of the Lviv accompaniment school, artists from Galicia played a decisive and prominent role in shaping the art of ensemble performance, as none of the solo performers could perform without a pianistaccompanist-conductor. The multifaceted function of these versatile musicians consisted not only in performing their own part in an ensemble, but also in preparing for the performance. The activities of Franz Xaver Mozart, Karol Mikuli and his followers were a brilliant example of such concert performance and applied pedagogical activities.

The opening of the Higher Music Institute in Lviv and its branches in the cities of Galicia was of great importance for the development and establishment of piano (in particular, accompanist) education at the beginning of the 20th century. The art of accompaniment received its further official professional foundation at the Lviv State Conservatory.

Yaroslava Matyukha‘s contribution as one of the most prominent musicians of the 20th century to the development of piano art in Ukraine (ensemble and accompaniment) is invaluable. Throughout her life, the pianist-accompanist was actively involved in concert and touring activities, performing on various stages in Ukraine, Europe, America with many outstanding soloists, vocalists and instrumentalists, including the Baiko sisters, Maria Baiko, Maria Protsivyat, Oleksandra Lynishyn, and Lilia Kostruba.

Together with outstanding soloists, Yaroslava Matyukha was the first performer of many works by Ukrainian composers. Alongside her active concert and touring activities, Yaroslava Matyukha also carried out equally productive pedagogical work aimed at preserving and practically implementing the established traditions of the Galician accompaniment school.
